Actor británico



Nació el 29 de septiembre de 1916 en Cliftonville.

Cursó estudios en la Academia Real de Arte Dramático.

Triunfó rápidamente al interpretar al médico de Breve encuentro (David Lean, 1945). El éxito de esta película, que ha llegado a ser uno de los grandes clásicos del cine realista inglés, marcó el punto de partida de una importante carrera.
